You Know that you're married to a teacher when...

Picture

You know that you are married to a teacher when, before leaving the house she says, "Now everyone go to the bathroom." I promised that I wouldn't name my source, but many of you have lived with and/or know these experiences.
Your children have been in school, now for about a month, and certainly, have discussed their teacher. "I don't like my teacher; she gives too much homework."  But have you enjoyed these reminders of your school days.  These may encourage all you new teachers to laugh at yourself.
Now back to my sources quotes.
You know that you're married to a teacher when:
  • You are asked to stay together in the museum.
  • She says, "Think about your answer.  You might want to think about that a little more before answering."
  • She says, "Eyes up here or may I have your attention, please."
  • When she can dine in ten minutes at a restaurant.  It's that half hour lunch routine (get to the lounge or cafeteria, eat, and get back to your room)
  • She seldom needs to go to the bathroom.  She can 'hold it.'  Or traveling and stop for gas, and you explain that you don't need to use the restroom.  She replies, "Everyone tries."
  • She says, "Why don't people 'take their turn' when most of us use our defensive terms like (Oh, not printable here).
  • She uses "we" instead of 'I' for most chores situations, like cleaning our the garage. One pronoun fits all.
  • She says, "That's not the answer I'm looking for, but you're on the right track."
  • She taps your desk while you're working on fiances and says, "You might want to check your answers."
  • Discussions, include, "How do you feel about that?"
  • She says, "Thanks for sharing."
And, I am so thankful for my source sharing insights on being married to a teacher, " I can do somethings better, but I can't without you."
Thank a teacher's husband or significant others for their service.  Your child is learning and gaining wisdom. Happy School year.
     Thanks Doug;)
