Fly Away!

Teaching is my nature. My foreign-born IBM 2nd language students nickednamed me their “Mary Poppins”. “A spoonful of sugar helps the 2nd language go-down in the form of coffee, cream, and sugar during their and their children’s night English lessons in their homes.

A spoonful of sugary possibilities for my mental hospital patients, K- 6th grade classroom in the lock-down unit, struggling through behavioral disorders - anorexia, ADHD, autism; suicide, abuse - sexual, drug, physical; and life hopes and dreams.

I had a bag of sweet tricks, psychological ones, to find “fun ways” to change behaviors, thoughts and feelings (cognitively-self, others, and future).

Valerie Valentine Visits Vincent Vampire is one of those fun maneuvers for adults, teachers, librarians, and others to discuss and face the problems of overdose for young children. 70,000 U.S. kids overdose each year - accidentally - on everyday household meds (Time Magazine, Aug.24, 2009.). WebMD (March 19, 2010) states Mediations Leading Cause of Child Poisoning in the U.S. The online site, “Partnership for Drug-Free Kids” records 1 death every 19 minutes and 1,756 children abuse prescriptions each day.

We all continue to need sweet supportive “umbrella” ideas for our futures. Valerie Valentine Visits Vincent Vampire is one of them for you and the younger ones.

Come blog with me.
